Host Setup Notes

Optional planning note

Optional: use this to write down the league you are setting up. Host access starts from account setup.

Before you start

What access means
Use one real league Real league required

Beta access is for testing a real private FPL league workflow. Add the official FPL League ID before league onboarding or player access requests.

Host keeps control External payments only

GameWeek HQ records status and awards. It does not collect, hold or pay prize money.

Players join safely Team ID only

Players claim their public FPL Team ID when they want GHQ access, Rival Watch and approved league features. No Premier League/FPL passwords, cookies or 2FA.

Beta scope One league first

Start with setup, members, approval, prizes and group updates before advanced tools.

What the beta covers

Software only
League onboarding Real table first

Use the official FPL league table as the member spine. Avoid hand-created members unless a real data gap needs fixing.

Host control Rules stay yours

Track entry status, prize rules, awards and external payout records under the host's rules.

Member access Approval gate

The league table can exist before players join. Players claim Team ID setup when they want approved access and extra league tools.

Boundary No prize custody

Host collects and pays prize money separately.

League Setup

Save the league source, private access gate, external payment notes and award presets. League onboarding starts from the official FPL table whether managers have GHQ accounts or not.

Member source rule

League integrity first
No manual member creation
Primary Real league table

Use the official FPL league as the membership spine. Managers can be tracked before they create GHQ accounts.

Access Player claim requests

Players use the host's GHQ invite to claim their current Team ID, unlock approved features and reveal the private code only after host approval.

Backup Admin enrichment

Use only for payment notes, host labels, phone numbers or missing admin data.

Code gate Unlock the right Team ID

Duplicate Team IDs are rejected. Host labels and phone notes help identify real people without creating fake members.

League Onboarding

Bring an existing private FPL league into GameWeek HQ. The official table gives the host the operating data first; player accounts add the advantage layer afterwards.

Step 1: load the official FPL table

Your membership source
Ready
League onboarding rule Do not build a live league from hand-created rows. Load the official table first, edit host admin fields inside GHQ, and let players claim their Team IDs for private-code access.
Need help finding the FPL League ID? Use the official FPL website in a browser Show guide

How to find the official FPL League ID

Browser route only
Classic league
1 Open Leagues & Cups

On the official Fantasy Premier League website in a browser, open the league you want GameWeek HQ to manage.

2 Copy the number

The browser address contains /leagues/123456/. Copy 123456 only. Do not copy the private join code.

3 Keep the join code separate

The official FPL League ID identifies the public league table. The private join code or invite link is a different host-controlled access secret.

Check Wrong ID signs

If preview returns no league, you may have copied a Team ID, invite code, cup route or a mobile-app screen that does not expose the browser URL.

How member records work Payments, labels, phones, access and exports Show details

Admin fields live in Members

Payments, labels, phones and notes
1. Load table Real members first

GHQ creates the league spine from the official FPL table, not from a host spreadsheet.

2. Update records Edit inside GHQ

Hosts mark paid, submitted, waived, phone, label and notes directly on member records.

3. Unlock code Approval stays in GHQ

Payment notes never reveal the private code by themselves. Host approval controls the unlock.

4. Export when needed CSV is an output

Use CSV for reports, backups, accountant/admin records or copying into another tool.

How the award board works

Host rules first
External payouts only
1. Define rules Use presets or custom awards

Top places, weekly winner, Manager of the Month, cup prize, bonus award or any host-defined rule.

2. Review the latest table Shortlist candidates

GameWeek HQ can surface candidates from the latest recorded table. The host checks that they match the published rule.

3. Host decides No silent winners

The host checks their own rules and records the official winner.

4. Keep the receipt Audit and payout status

GameWeek HQ records the award and whether the host marked it paid externally.
